Buckskin Scout Reservation - summer camp

We had the camp to ourselves! 15 mile bike ride along the Greenbrier River. Mrs. Kaiser, the meals were better than we have ever had at a scout camp!!!!!!!!

Klondike derby at Camp Falling Rock

Troop won 2nd place in the sled race after the other competitions. Pack 3 WEBELOS also had a patrol, and did better than most of the other scout troops that were participating.

January 31st to February 3rd

Troop cabin camp in at camp Avery Hand and skiing at Snow Trails

Most of the troop went skiing, and a few went snow boarding, but everyone agreed that it would have been very fun if we had all gone tubing.

Welcome to the troop campout for new scouts at Sinsabaugh property.

Possibly the best capture the flag game, and the biggest bonfire ever. A relaxing and fun campout.

April 25th

Spring camporee at Flint Ridge

Scouts earned the Indian lore merit badge

It drizzled, and tried to rain all day, but never really did. There was an OA tap out, and campfire. Chris Betts, and were nominated for order of the arrow. Also, there was a gas pipeline leak that caused a partial evacuation of the campsite. Sadly we did not get to see any mushroom cloud, but it was still a good campout.

May 16th

Nagatamen / NYLT ends

NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) / Nagatamen concluded with a moment of silence for the four scouts that were killed in a tornado at another NYLT camp in Iowa on Thursday of that week.

Summer camp at camp Friedlander

Air conditioned dining hall and soda fountain!!!!!

The camp had great facilities, a huge lake, trading post, cabins (our troop got to stay in them) and an amazing climbing / rappelling tower. August 15th

Troop wilderness survival campout at Falling Rock

5 mile cross country orienteering hike and outpost in the woods somewhere across the road from lake Peewee. The 5 mile hike finished at about 10:30, after dropping off the outpost guys, and finding both cemeteries. The outpost site came complete with a fire pit, lawn chairs, cool rock outcropping, and some very noisy neighbors. Mr. McBride learned something new about compasses, and flint strikers (ask him about it!!).
